What is Chevrolet Lane Keep Assist?
Adding an extra layer of safety to your drive, Chevy Lane Keep Assist alerts drivers when they are drifting out of lanes using sensors located on the front of the vehicle. The team at DeFOUW Chevrolet is committed to driver safety which is why we are pleased to bring our Crawfordsville area customers a selection of new and used cars, trucks, and SUVs equipped with this feature.
If your vehicle is equipped with Chevy Lane Keep Assist, you will see a symbol on your steering wheel and in the driver information center.
How Does Chevy Lane Keep Assist Work?
Vehicles equipped with Chevy Lane Keep will automatically activate this feature when you are traveling at speeds of approximately 37 mph. When activated, the lane keep assist icon appears green on the dashboard, meaning sensors on your vehicle are monitoring lane lines.
When the system anticipates your vehicle beginning to depart the lane, the icon will turn amber and your steering wheel will receive a slight nudge, helping you return to your lane. If this does not keep your vehicle within the lines, your Chevy will alert you with three short beeps.
How to Turn off Chevy Lane Keep Assist
You have the ability to control your Chevy Lane Keep Assist from your steering wheel. Simply press the button that looks like a vehicle between two lane lines.
