The teen driver technology allows parents or guardians to set features on the vehicle to promote attentive driving practices. With Buckle to Drive activated, the driver must buckle the seatbelt before the vehicle will allow you to shift. You can add additional safety features to the vehicle including:
- Speed warning: when traveling over a preselected speed the vehicle flashes a warning
- Speed limiter: keeps the vehicle from exceeding 85 mph
- Audio limit: select a maximum volume
- Seat belt audio mute: keeps the radio off until driver and front passenger are buckled in
How to Work Chevy Teen Driver Technology
In order to activate Chevy Teen Driver Technology, you must sync a designated key fob.When the teen key fob is in use, Teen Driver Technology will activate. Follow these steps to register your fob:
- Once in park, navigate to the settings menu in the center display
- Go to vehicle and then teen driver
- Create a four digit pin, to lock settings control
- Tap setup keys and place the keyfob in the transmitter pocket
- Tap okay
- Now you can configure settings to meet your needs
